The Theatre School at DePaul University will hold its 18th Annual Awards for Excellence in the Arts on May 4, 6– 10 p.m., at The Four Seasons Hotel Chicago Grand Ballroom, 120 E. Delaware.
This event will raise scholarship money for students, and will honor two-time Tony Award-winning actor Brian Dennehy ( Death of a Salesman, Long Day's Journey Into Night ) , Tony Award-winning actress and The Cosby Show star Phylicia Rashad ( Raisin in the Sun ) and Theatre School alumna Judy Greer ( BFA '97, American Dreamz, Elizabethtown ) .
BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois will receive the 2006 Corporate Award for Excellence in the Arts.
Alumnus Scott Ellis, associate artistic director of New York's Roundabout Theatre Company and a four-time Tony Award nominee, will be the evening's host and master of ceremonies. The evening will include cocktails, dinner, student performances, awards presentation, a live auction, a raffle, dessert and dancing.
