Two features popular on the gay TV network here!—Dante's Cove and Third Man Out—both premiered in DVD form Aug. 8.

Dante's Cove, described as a cross between Buffy, The Vampire Slayer and Melrose Place, mixes surf culture, soap-opera elements and horror. Various residents of the Hotel Dante—who happen to be of various sexual orientations—discover that the tiny hamlet of Dante's Cove has a sinister past. Among the stars of the series are Tracy Scoggins ( who was on Dynasty back in the '80s ) , William Gregory Lee and openly gay actor Charlie David, who once described the show to Windy City Times as 'sexy, fun and slightly camp.' The two-DVD set contains all the episodes as well as a featurette.

Third Man Out, the first of six TV-movie installments of Richard Stevenson's novels, focuses on Donald Strachey, a gay detective portrayed by out actor Chad Allen. In the film, Strachey is hired to protect a gay activist who has been outing individuals. When said activist ends up dead, Strachey must determine who the killer is—and the list of possible suspects is quite long, including a character played by veteran actress Sean Young. The DVD, like the Dante's Cove set, comes with a behind-the-scenes feature.
