Goodman names 'Teddy Ferrara' cast members
Goodman Theatre has announced casting for the world-premiere production of Teddy Ferrara by Pulitzer Prize finalist Christopher Shinn.
According to a press release, the production "explores what happens when a tragedy sparks a movementand the truth gets lost along the way."
The cast includes Liam Benzvi (Gabe), Patrick Clear (University President), Rashaad Hall (Nicky), Ryan Heindl (Teddy Ferrara), Christopher Imbrosciano (Jay), Jax Jackson (Jaq), Dev Kennedy and Fawzia Mirza (Campus Police), Paloma Nozicka (Jenny), Adam Poss (Drew), Josh Salt (Tim), Kelli Simpkins (Ellen) and Janet Ulrich Brooks (University Provost).
Teddy Ferrara runs Feb. 2-March 3 in the Owen Theatre (with opening night Monday, Feb. 11). Tickets ($14-$45; subject to change) are available at www.GoodmanTheatre.org, by phone at 312-443-3800 or at the box office (170 N. Dearborn St.).
Mike Tyson bringing show to Chicago
Former boxer Mike Tyson will bring his show, Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, to the Cadillac Palace Theatre for three shows Feb. 15-17.
The three performances run during a 10-week national tour that starts Feb. 12 in Indianapolis, Ind., the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

'American Story' starts March 8
Hershey Felder's An American Story for Actor and Orchestrawhich tells the story of Abraham Lincoln's last daywill have its Chicago premiere at The Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted St., beginning Friday, March 8.
For this new production, Felder will create the role of Dr. Charles Augustus Leale, the 23-year-old unknown Union Army medic who was the first individual to reach the presidential box at Ford's Theatre on the night President Lincoln was shot.
Set in New York City in 1932, the 90-year-old Leale tells his story as he travels back in time and recounts the events that, 67 years before, changed his life forever.

African dance class Jan. 21
In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Joffrey Academy of Dance is hosting an African dance master class with Andrea Vinson on the third floor of Joffrey Tower, 10 E. Randolph St., on Monday, Jan. 21, 12-1 p.m.
