—Roosevelt Collection announced the official grand reopening and new exhibits at the U.S. Pizza Museum. Open on Fridays from 1-8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m.-6 p.m., the museum features founder Kendall Bruns' personal collection of pizza-themed memorabilia in exhibits on the history of pizza in the United States. The museum will maintain regular hours throughout the renovation. The remodel and brand-new exhibits will be launching Friday, May 31, with an opening reception on Saturday, June 1, at 12:30 p.m. featuring a presentation by Bruns with free pizza, while supplies last. —City Tap, described as "an elevated American gastropub," will open May 22 at 850 W. Fulton Market. The Chicago opening will mark City Tap's eighth location nationwide, joining City Tap restaurants in Boston, Washington D.C., Nashville, Atlanta and Philadelphia, where City Tap was founded in 2010. Dedicated to making craft beer accessible to everyone, City Tap will serve a variety of styles from India pale to Berliner Weisse, fruited wheats to barrel-aged stouts. There will be 48 beers on tap—as well as culinary fare such as whiskey-smoked salmon, the City Tap torta and rabbit sausage.
—Carrie and Michael Nahabedian—who closed Naha in 2018—are opening a new restaurant in The Gwen ( 521 N. Rush St. ), a luxury hotel just off Michigan Avenue, The Chicago Tribune noted. The currently unnamed restaurant will be Riviera-inspired, embracing coastal foods from Portugal all the way to the Black Sea.
—The team behind two-Michelin-starred Oriole ( 661 W. Walnut St. ) and Kumiko ( 630 W. Lake St. ) is introducing Kikko—the renovated 10-seat counter space below Kumiko that offers a seven-course omakase-style tasting menu and a variety of beverage pairings, launching May 22. A collaboration between Executive Chef Noah Sandoval and Chef de Cuisine Mariya Russell, Kikko's seven-course menu is $130 per person, with beverage pairings available from Creative Director Julia Momose. Reservations are required for Kikko, with three seatings at 5:30, 7:30 and 9:30 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, and are available through Opentable.
—The official summer opening of Belly Flop will take place Friday, May 24, in Long Beach, Indiana, at 2411 S. Lawrence Ave. Items will include buoys ( twists on sandwiches ), smoothies and bowls, doughnuts, iced and hot drinks, sundaes and more. Belly Flop will also add CBD to any drink and sell CBD puppy treats.

—The nonprofit Rogers Park Business Alliance ( RPBA ) has announced the 10th season of its Glenwood Sunday Market, with a new initiative Giving Sunday to fortify its Food Access Program. —Windy City Smokeout will be held July 12-14 at a new location right outside of Chicago's United Center. Hosted by Bub City and Joe's Bar, the event is the first official outdoor music festival to take place at the West Loop arena's 250,000-square-foot parking lot along Madison Street. Some of the country acts slated to perform are Old Dominion, Jessie James Decker, Parker McCollum, LANCO and Muscadine Bloodline.
—Jeong, 1460 W. Chicago Ave., has a menu that draws inspiration from traditional Korean ingredients from Chef Dave Park's childhood with his grandparents in Korea. However, one of his desserts borrows something from his childhood that is a little less traditional ( and Japanese ): Hi-Chew. Park crafts a sweet stock using Hi-Chews, and incorporates that into making a pillowy mochi, served with a sorbet made with cloudy Korean rice wine Makgeolli as well as grapefruit segments for some added acidity. The whole dessert is topped with a delicate meringue made using omija or "five-flavor" berries that have five distinct tastes ( sour, bitter, sweet, spicy and salty ).
