If you're reading that Madonna is releasing her new CD MDNA in March here first, put down the Nightspots, and reevaluate. Moose, like the rest of Boystown and beyond, has his ear to the ground for the faintest Madonna rumbling. For MDNA, she was originally rumored to be working with Meat Loaf's Jim Steinman ( Celine Dion, Bonnie Tyler ) which could have been cool, dramatic and downright age-appropriate. However, her recent single, "Give Me All Your Luvin'" proves she's still stuck in that same "hey kids, I'm totally still hip and cool! Ow, my hip" phase. Here's hoping recent theories are right that it's just a toss out track for the Super Bowl.
Garbage ( aka Shirley Manson ) , that dude who produced Nirvana's Nevermind, and two other guys are back together ( aka "we're out of money" ... see Ben Folds below ) with their first release in seven years. Not Your Kind Of People ( May 15 ) is, like mew material from a lot of established artists, being self-released. Even their website is Tumblr. If Radiohead can do it, and Louis CK can make a million in a week like that, I'm sure they'll be fine.
Norah Jones continues her potentially exciting climb out of her rut when she joins Danger Mouse, who is producing her new release Little Broken Hearts. No release date as of yet.
It's been over a decade since The Sing-Off's Ben Folds was with his other two, Ben Folds Five, but Ben recently tweeted that their reunion album is set to come in spring. We should have seen this with the coming of his "greatest hits," with three new Five tracks included.
Forever known as "American Idol runner-up," Adam Lambert is putting the finishing touches on his new disc set for spring. This time he's working with NERD's Pharell, Claude Kelly ( Britney, Xtina, Kelly ) and Greg Wells ( Adele and Katy Perry ) . The album will be called Trespassing. Also in the A.I. house, Carrie Underwood will put out her 1000th album May 1. Titled *something innocuous*, it is rumored to sound just like everything else she's ever done, but she'll look hot and angry doing it.
Also look for less gay releases by DMX, Lil Wayne and Alien Ant Farm ( really? )
