On Thursday, Sept. 12, Considering Matthew Shepard will be performed at Ravinia Festival. The concert focuses on the brutal 1998 killing of a 21 year old gay student which attracted the attention of the world for its brutality. Parts of Shepard's journal are sung, accompanied by word and image projections.
The concert is presented in association with the Center on Halsted.
Public gates open at 5 p.m. and the performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Ravinia Festival is at 418 Sheridian Rd., Highland Park. The cost of tickets is $65/$45. Lawn tickets are $10. Tickets are available at www.ravinia.org/ShowDetails/1681/considering-matthew-shepard .
