On July 26, the Chicago Sky ( 1-0 ) staged a comeback to defeat the Las Vegas Aces ( 0-1 ) 88-86 in their joint WNBA opener.
Chicago closed out the game on an 11-0 run, proving as the final push for the win.
Kahleah Copper led the Sky with 18 points. Angel McCoughtry had 25 points for the Aces, while A'ja Wilson added 22.
The Sky forced eight turnovers in the first half, recording seven points from those takeaways. In addition, Chicago's bench outscored Las Vegas 32-25.
After the game, Sky General Manager/Head Coach James Wade said, according to the team's official statement, "We have a lot of things to work on. We saw where we were weak. I think we fouled a little too much. We were just undisciplined in schemes. It's a lot of stuff that we have to do. It's good to get a win but we have a lot of holes to plug. We have to fix a lot of things so I'm happy with the win, but I'm not happy with how we got there."
