The Chicago Red Stars announced the following update on the health of defender Tierna Davidson.
"Davidson sustained a knee injury during training last week. After further evaluation, it was determined that Davidson tore her ACL and will be out for the remainder of the season.
"The Red Stars will support Tierna throughout her recovery process. We wish her a safe and speedy recovery and look forward to having her back on the pitch."
Davidson, 23, originally from Menlo Park, California, joined the Red Stars in 2019 when she was selected first in the NWSL College Draft. Davidson appeared in five matches during the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup Championship, and all matches during the 2020 Olympics.
