Charlie's Chicago, 3726 N. Broadway, Chicago 60613, will hold a Holiday Social for the Imperial Windy City Court of the Prairie State Empire as a fundraiser for the Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame on Friday, Dec. 16 from 7-10 p.m. The event will feature specialty drinks and appearances by Chicago LGBT celebrities, including reigning Empress of the Imperial Court, Miss Fifi DePraved, as well as prizes and surprise appearances from Chicago LGBT celebrities. Gay apparel is encouraged!
The Imperial Windy City Court of the Prairie State Empire is one of 70 chapters of the International Court System which includes Mexico, USA, and Canada. It is a not-for-profit fund raising organization and also advocates of LGBT causes. Its mission is to raise funds for local charities one dollar at a time. A diverse and inclusive group, it has been serving the LGBT community since 2001. In 2021 it raised $40,000 for its chosen charities.
The Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame is the first such organization launched by a city in the world. It honors the contributions and achievements of individuals, organizations, and allies of our community in the Chicago area The Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame is both a historic event and an exhibit. Through the Hall of Fame, residents of Chicago and the world are made aware of the contributions of Chicago's lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community, and the community's efforts to eradicate homophobic bias and discrimination.
Friends of the Chicago LGBT of Fame is a not-for-profit Illinois corporation formed in 2009 to aid the Hall of Fame. It is recognized as a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All contributions to it are tax-deductible.
