(Chicago) — DIFFA/Chicago (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS/Chicago) is pleased to announce the recipients of this year's Excellence in Care Awards.

DIFFA/Chicago's Board of Directors tasked its Grants Committee to focus its funding on two areas:

- Excellence in Care - awarding grants to agencies that performed the best in the city.

- Critical Need - to determine the areas of most urgent or critical need in the Chicagoland area

"The determination was made to target funding to at-risk youth from ages 12-21, MSM/LGBTQ individuals specifically Men of Color, as well as programs specifically serving the South and West Sides of Chicago, where access to funding is challenging."

The panel looked specifically for programs and projects that stood out as innovative within their area of service and showed past or expected impact in the stated areas of focus.

The following agencies have been awarded grants this year:

- Chicago House

- Alexian Brothers Bonaventure House

- Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago Foundation

-Chicago House

-Center On Halsted

- Heartland Human Care Services

-Legal Council for Health Justice with Howard Brown Health

-Mother & Child Alliance

-University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital

-Test Positive Aware Network

-Youth Outlook

We are also pleased to announce the continued funding of the DIFFA/Chicago Fellowship at Northwestern Medicine.

Due to COVID-19, DIFFA/Chicago will feature a series of 11 social media posts highlighting each agency, which will also be on the DIFFA/Chicago website. These agencies will focus on the health of their agency, along with why the DIFFA/Chicago funds are much needed in this difficult year.

To date, DIFFA/Chicago has granted $5 million to Chicago area HIV/AIDS service providers.
