Chicago Filmmakers, 1326 W. Hollywood Ave., will present an in-person screening of Any Given Day—the award-winning documentary investigating Cook County Jail as a replacement for community mental health clinics—on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m.

Following the widespread defunding of community mental health care programs across the country in 2015, the Cook County Jail has become a default treatment center for people living with mental illness in Chicago, per a press release. While sharing the rarely seen struggles of three detainees in a specialized mental health probation program, director Margaret Byrne faces her own challenges—showing the ties between people with mental illness, their families and society.

Director Margaret Byrne and Impact Producer Latesha Dickerson, past students of Chicago Filmmakers' film-education program, are scheduled to attend the in-person screening for a post-film Q&A. Proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR test result is required to attend.

Tickets (suggested donation of $10) are on sale now at www.chicagofilmmakers.org . The film's trailer is at vimeo.com/541810754 .
