DeMar DeRozan extended his record of games scoring at least 35 points to eight, as he led the way with 37 this timeincluding three points late in the fourth quarter that sealed the victory, CBS Sports noted. DeRozan broke Wilt Chamberlain's decades-old NBA record in the buildup to last weekend's All-Star break.
Chicago has now won six games in a row and is now in first place in the Eastern Conference.
Bogdan Bogdanovic led the Hawks with 27 points. Zach LaVine scored 20 points for the Bulls after missing the last three games prior to the All-Star break because of his left knee. Tristan Thompson, in his debut for the Bulls, provided 11 points and six rebounds.
The Bulls next host the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday, Feb. 26.
