Chicago Black Gay Men's Caucus (CBGMC) announced Joshua "JT" Travis as its newest executive director.
In the role, Travis will lead the overall management of the organization's operations, resource development and strategic planning. He will play a key role in ensuring the fiscal integrity and programming momentum of the organization while meeting strategic goals to achieve health equity among Black gay, bisexual, and same-gender-loving men.
According to CBGMC, Travis is a nonprofit executive who works with community leaders across the world to develop and implement strategic, community-centered programming. Among the organizations he has worked with are the Alzheimer's Association, Children's Home & Aid, and Youth Guidance.
Travis holds a bachelor's degree in anthropology, with minors in biology and criminal Justice from Illinois State University; and a master's in nonprofit management from DePaul University. He is currently seeking a doctorate in interdisciplinary leadership at Governors State University.
