North America's largest auto show, the Chicago Auto Show, is taking place through Feb. 20 at McCormick Place, 2301 S. Lake Shore Dr.
This year's event spans more than 1 million square feet of floor space of the McCormick Place complex and displays multiple world and North American introductions and a complete range of almost 1,000 domestic and imported passenger cars, trucks, sport-utility vehicles, minivans and concept cars. ( In addition, almost 4,000 journalists were expected to cover this year's show. )
Admission is $13 for adults, $7 for seniors age 62 and older as well as children ages 7-12, and free for children 0-6.
In addition to the public show, First Look for Charity has also taken place. It took Feb. 10, and is expected to raise more than $2 million annually to benefit 18 local charities, including Special Olympics Illinois and Jesse White Tumblers.
Special days scheduled for this year include Women's Day ( Feb. 15 ) and Hispanic Heritage Day ( Feb. 17 ).
