Alison Bechdel, known for her popular comic strip Dykes to Watch Out For, popped by Women & Children First, 5233 N. Clark, on July 9 to discuss her new graphic memoir, Fun Home.
'I never expected it to get this much of a response,' Bechdel said.
After a reading, Bechdel shared her creative process with the audience, including the painstaking amount of research she puts into each frame. For example, Bechdel revealed that she photographs herself in the various poses needed for each frame as a point of reference. |
