The Chicago MSA 12' Softball League is holding its first managers' meeting of the 2003 season Thursday, Feb. 20 at Ann Sather's Restaurant, 929 W. Belmont. Team representatives from returning and new teams as well as those interested in forming new teams are highly encouraged to attend. For info, cmsacommissioner@netzero.com
The CMSA Softball Board invites you to participate in the return of the CMSA's 16' Snowball Tournament. The event is being held as a social event and it will also be an opportunity to raise money for two local agencies.
The Board has selected the Horizons' Anti-Violence Project as one of the recipients. The other recipient will be selected by the winner of the tournament. All profits from entries, less any operating expenses, will be split and donated to the two organizations. They are currently seeking a local sponsor to host the awards party.
'If you have never played in a Snowball tournament, you don't know what you're missing. It's taking a sport we love and throwing in a little Mother Nature,' CMSA said. 'Have you ever tried running for a ball in snow and ice? Have you ever tried running bases with enough layers of clothing on to give Field's Day a run for their money? If not, come on out and join in the fun.'
Tournament Information: March 1, 2003 (snow, rain or shine—within reason), Margate Fields; Time:TBD based on number of entries; Single Elimination (2 Divisions based on number of entries); Cost:$120 per team (entry fee due at Managers' meeting on Feb. 20).
