Friends and family have launched an intense search for a 31-year-old Chicago man missing since March 11.
James Rowe was last seen early on Sunday, M arch 11, at the bar Different Strokes, 4923 N. Clark, said friend Jeremy Todd. He was wearing a black jacket and a baseball cap.
Rowe didn't come home that night, and when he didn't see him the next day, Todd said he assumed he'd gone to see his family in the suburbs.
But his family hadn't heard from him either, and they knew something was wrong when he missed his mother's birthday that Tuesday.
"He's never not called me on my birthday," his mother said.
Rowe suffers from encephalitis, inflammation of the brain that can cause memory problems, dizziness and loss of balance. He does not have his medication, and without it he could have blacked out, Todd said.
All of his belongings are still where he left them Sunday, and Todd and Rowe's parents said he has never disappeared like this before.
Both Todd and Rowe's parents have filed police reports, and there are missing persons posters at all of the bars, Todd said.
