Chicago Foundation for Women ( CFW ) has announced the 13 organizations receiving December grants. At the same time, CFW has put out a call for the next round.
The 13 grants range from $15,000 to $35,000. The grants, approved by CFW's board during its December meeting, come from the foundation's general fund as well as The Sophia Fund for Advocacy. One of the largest women's funds in the world, CFW believes that all women and girls should have the chance to achieve their potential and live in safe, just and healthy communities.
Among the latest batch of recipients are the Lesbian Community Cancer Project ( $15,000 ) , the Chicago Women's AIDS Project ( $20,000 ) and Chicago Women in Trades ( $35,000 ) .
The Foundation's next grant cycle begins this month for spring 2007. The deadline for the initial letters of inquiry is Friday, Jan. 12. See www.cfw.org for application information.
