In the second of back-to-back games against the Toronto Raptors (6-5), the Chicago Bulls (6-6) won 111-97 as Zach LaVine posted his first 30-point game of the season, according to NBC Sports.
"They want me to catch-and-shoot everything right now. I still gotta be me. I'm still catching my rhythm. But I'm starting to feel good," LaVine said. "I'm trying to find more catch-and-shoots. There were a couple I pump faked and tried to drive. I gotta shoot more, get up more 3s. Someone telling me to shoot more? It sounds good."
LaVine didn't play in the Bulls' nine-point loss at Toronto on Nov. 6 because of injury management on his knee, ESPN noted.
Chicago will next host New Orleans on Wed. Nov. 9.
The Northwestern University men's basketball team (1-0) opened its season with an 85-54 win over the Chicago State Cougars (0-1).
Robbie Beran scored a career-high 20 points as the Wildcats won their 14th opener in the last 15 seasons. He became the first Wildcat to score 20 or more points in a season opener since Ryan Taylor scored the same amount in 2018 against New Orleans.
The Wildcats will next host Northern Illinois on Friday, Nov. 11.
Unfortunately for NU's women's basketball team, the season didn't start as wellespecially with #20 Oregon on the schedule.
In Oregon, the Ducks (1-0) dominated the Wildcats (0-1) 100-57. Caileigh Walsh, a 6'3" forward, led Northwestern with 15 points.
The Wildcats will next host Penn on Sunday, Nov. 13.
The Loyola Ramblers men's basketball team (1-0) opened its season by edging the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights (0-1) 88-82 at Gentile Arena.
Sheldon Edwards scored 19 points, including a buzzer-beating jump to force overtime, a WRAL Sports Fan item stated. Demetre Roberts led the Knights with 22 points.
The Ramblers will next take on the UIC Flames on Friday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. on ESPN+, Yahoo! Sports noted.
