Mary Cheney, the daughter and campaign manager of U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney, whose identity as a lesbian became an issue in the presidential campaign, has sold the rights to a memoir to Simon & Schuster for an advance of about $1 million, according to The New York Times. In a statement, Cheney said she looked forward to writing about her experience. Will anyone else look forward to it? She was silent throughout the campaign, should we reward her by buying her book?
Speaking of books, Oklahoma lawmakers are calling a kid's book about a gay prince 'obscene' and want it removed from the children's section of libraries, according to 365Gay.com . The book, King and King, has been attacked by conservatives around the country for more than two years.
After 12 years of requests from AIDS activists, The New York Times recently agreed to make its entire 24 years of AIDS news coverage available to the AIDS Information Global Information System ( www.AEGIS.org ) , the world's largest free-access AIDS information Web site. AEGIS Founder/Publisher Sister Mary Elizabeth said she is 'grateful to the Times's executives for their humanitarian gesture.'
Robert Gant, an openly gay cast member of the TV series Queer as Folk, will be master of ceremonies for the Gay Pioneers & 40 Heroes Tribute at the National Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the GLBT Civil Rights Movement. The Tribute is on May 1 in front of Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia.

According to a Diggit press release, the service is available in New York City and will spread to other major cities later in the spring. Cruze Mobile includes a city guide; community chat room, and dance anthems.
