On Aug. 27, Brave Space Alliance held its Post Pride Mixer at popular lesbian-owned bar Nobody's Darling. The social gathering celebrated past accomplishments while looking forward to new horizons for both the service organization and the LGBTQ+ Chicago community.
The Post Pride Mixer is intended as a way to say Gay Pride does not stop in June but goes on year round, so guests, allies and well-wishers crowded into Nobody's Darling for an afternoon of lively conversation and comradery. The event also served as an unofficial release party for leadership expert Pamela Meyer's new book, Staying in the Game: Leading and Learning with Agility for a Dynamic Future.
According to its website, "Brave Space Alliance is the first Black-led, Trans-led LGBTQ+ Center located on the South Side of Chicago, and is designed to create and provide affirming and culturally competent services for the entire LGBTQ+ community of Chicago."
The Center is located in Hyde Park at 1515 E. 52nd Place. For more information go to bravespacealliance.org
