A forum that is extremely relevant to the African-American GLBT community and its allies—'Black Homophobia, Black Churches, Black Lives'—will be held Nov. 13, 6:30-10 p.m., at Bella Bacino's ( in the Club Quarters Hotel ) , 75 E. Wacker.
Among the speakers will be Rev. Tommie Watkins, author of the book Living Out Loud; Dr. Terri E. Pease, a domestic violence/trauma expert and author; Rev. Juan Reed, vicar of St. Martin's Episcopal Church and 2005 inductee in the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame; and Rev. Deborah E. Lake, executive director of Sankofa Way and author of the book Who Is My Neighbor? My Neighbor Has AIDS.
