On Saturday, Oct. 15, Ties & Tassels, along with a group of team-mates and friends, is hosting a show to remember and celebrate the life of the late lesbian activist Christina Santiago and raise some funds to assist the Brennon/Santiago Fund.
The event will take place at Lizard Lounge, 3058 W. Irving Park Rd., at 8 p.m. There is a $5 donation.
Some of the scheduled performers are spoken-word artist/singer Nikki Patin; a belly dancer; and rockers Amy & the Mud Butlers, among others. There will also be a raffle with prizes such as one-hour massages; a baseball signed by former Chicago Cubs Mark Grace, Sammy Sosa and Ryne Sandberg, among others; and gift cards for Crew and Hamburger Mary's. Raffle tickets are two for $5.
People can also send donations by making checks payable to the "Brennon & Santiago Assistance Fund" and mail them to: Chase Bank, Attn: Scott, 310 N. Randall Rd., Lake in the Hills, Ill., 60156.
