At Soldier Field on Nov. 6, the Chicago Bears (3-6) suffered a tough loss to the Miami Dolphins (6-3), falling 35-32.
However, Chicago quarterback Justin Fields managed to shine. He rushed for 178 yardsincluding a highlight-reel 61-yard touchdownon 15 carries and threw for three touchdowns, a press release noted.
Fields' 178 yards on the ground set an NFL record for rushing yards by a quarterback in a regular-season game, topping the 173 yards that Michael Vick compiled Dec. 1, 2002 in an overtime win over the Vikings. Fields' 61-yard run was the longest by a Bears quarterback, surpassing Vince Evans' 58-yarder on Nov. 16, 1980, in a 10-6 loss to the then-Houston Oilers at Soldier Field.
Miami's offense was just as explosive, with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa completing 21 of 30 passes for 302 yards and three TDs.
The Bears will next host the Detroit Lions (3-6)which defeated the Green Bay Packers 15-9 on Nov. 6on Nov. 13 at Soldier Field.
In the first of back-to-back games against the Toronto Raptors (6-4), the Chicago Bulls (5-6) lost 113-104 in Canada on Nov. 6.
Fred VanVleet returned from injury with season highs of 30 points and 11 assists while Scottie Barnes had 19 points and 10 rebounds as Toronto overcame the absence of leading scorer Pascal Siakam to win, ESPN noted.
Nikola Vucevic had 18 points and 12 rebounds, Alex Caruso had a career-high 11 rebounds and 11 assists, and DeMar DeRozan scored 20 points for the Bulls, who lost their second straight game.
Chicago had 17 turnovers, leading to 23 points for Toronto. The Bulls led 30-21 after the first quarter, but ended up relinquishing the lead.
The Bulls will now host Toronto on Monday, Nov. 7.
