A'ville shopping events Dec. 4, 18
The shopping events "Late Night Andersonville" and "Late-er Night Andersonville" will take place in the Andersonville neighborhood on Friday, Dec. 4, and Friday, Dec. 18, respectively.
Both events are 6-10 p.m.
More than 40 Andersonville stores and restaurants will be open late, offering savings on holiday gifts and meals. The events feature free entertainment, refreshments and a chance to get pictures taken with Santa ( 6-8 p.m. at the Swedish American Museum, 5211 N. Clark St ).

'Holiday Hilarity' Dec. 16 at Davenport's
Melissa Young and Nick Sula will sing what they call "wacky holiday hits" in "Holiday Hilarity" on Wed., Dec. 16, at Davenport's Piano Bar & Cabaret, 1383 N. Milwaukee Ave., at 8 p.m.
A portion of the night's proceeds will go to The Night Ministry, which works to provide housing, health care and more to people experiencing poverty or homelessness.
Among the songs slated to be sung are "Santa Claus Got Stuck in my Chimney," "Santa Lost a Ho" and "Hard Rock and CoCo and Joe."

'Oy to the World' Dec. 5 in Skokie
Chicago gay vocalist Russ Goeltenbodt returns with more music, mishigas and mayhem in the holiday musical celebration "Oy to the World." The event will take place at the Skokie Theatre, 7924 Lincoln Avenue, Skokie, on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 8 p.m.
Goeltenbodt plans to share his highly personal story via music, on being a gay Catholic and celebrating Christmas in Skokie. The show will also featuring longtime cabaret singer Denise Tomasello.

Creating Change youth talk Dec. 5
Creating Change's LGBTQ youth storytelling event, "#Chi4Change"featuring young community members sharing true stories from their liveswill take place Saturday, Dec. 5, 1-3 p.m., at Gallery 400, 400 S. Peoria St.
LGBTQ youth will tell stories of love, adversity, triumph, acceptance and joy. The University of Illinois at Chicago's Gender and Sexuality Center is sponsoring the event.

'Transfluent' series through Jan. 9
Transfluenta public engagement that incorporates visual, performative and conversational expressionwill take place at Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St., through Jan. 9.
Two art exhibitions"Pearly Foam" and "Trisha Shattuck: Machinations of a Monk"are being held concurrently at Center on Halsted and David Weinberg Photography, 300 W. Superior St.

Dec. 4, at 6 p.m.: Sofia Moreno will present selections from the "P o r n A g a i n" video series. This event features live performances from Moreno's entourage of sea queens and collaborators throughout this project.
