Las Vegas, NV (March 13, 2023) — The Podcast Academy hosted the Ambies, the most preeminent awards in podcasting, at the Westgate Hotel in Las Vegas on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. Anna DeShawn, the producer & voice of the Queer News podcast, was honored with an Ambie award in the new DIY category. This category encourages individuals to take matters into their own hands and create content that reflects their unique perspectives and voices.

Anna DeShawn's Queer News podcast provides a platform for LGBTQ+ voices and stories to be heard. The show tackles topics ranging from politics to pop culture with a unique and refreshing perspective. Anna's win in the DIY category is a testament to her dedication and hard work in creating high-quality, engaging content for her audience.

"Winning the Ambie award in the DIY category is a huge honor for me," said Anna DeShawn. "There is a lot of Indie's out here making amazing content that people cannot find. I'm really grateful to tell the stories of queer folks and black and brown queer folks because as our representation continues to increase, so does the anti-LGBTQ Trans legislation and hate. I'm here to tell our stories because they deserve to be heard and amplified and this says 'yes' to that."

Anna DeShawn's win at the Ambies has been generating a lot of buzz and excitement among podcast enthusiasts. To hear more about Anna's experience listen to the latest episode of the Queer News podcast here.
