CHICAGO ( February 6, 2017 ): Coinciding with the end of Chicago's Restaurant week, more than 20 Andersonville restaurants have signed on to continue the winter dining excitement for Andersonville's first official neighborhood restaurant week, February 17-26, 2017. Each of the 24 participating restaurants will offer at least one set menu option priced at either $10, $20 or $30 per person.

With the support of the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce, Ashley Wright, co-owner of Hamburger Mary's and Andersonville Brewing ( 5400 N Clark ) has led the effort in recruiting restaurants to sign-on for a menu price point they are comfortable with, encouraging participation on all levels.

"With the wide variety of restaurants on Clark Street, I think it's only fitting we have our own restaurant week," said Wright. "This is a way to highlight the different culinary options in the neighborhood for our residents and visitors, and I especially like that there are options for different budgets."

Hamburger Mary's will serve a $20 prix fixe featuring a mac & cheese fritter appetizer, and a "Steakhouse Burger" with a side and a pint of an Andersonville Brewing beer. They will also offer a $10 "Slider Flight," with three different mini burger creations featuring different toppings. Andie's Restaurant will serve a $20 prix fixe menu featuring an entrée of charred blood orange chicken, soup or salad, and a glass of Glogg, the traditional Swedish hot wine, and restaurants like Lady Gregory's and Big Jones will offer expanded menus for customers to choose their own dining experience. Andersonville retailers are also making plans to stay open later during the event.

"My hope is that people will come out and eat at restaurants they may not ordinarily visit, or haven't visited in a while," continued Wright. "The timing is great because this is typically a slow season for restaurants and their employees. People can show support for their local eateries by coming out often and enjoying several different meals during the week."
