The most powerful name in television, Oprah Winfrey, is searching for the next TV star. "Your OWN Show" is a competition series that will premiere on OWN, Oprah Winfrey's new network, in 2011 with the goal of finding the next talk show host star. The winner of the series will be awarded his or her talk show on OWN.
After 12 years as a host on AM daily radio, syndicated radio news magazines, podcasts and events around Chicago, Amy Matheny is poised to be a contender with her own television talk show. Amy has been a lesbian personality in Chicago for over a decade whether hosting annual events such as Windy City Gay Idol and Gays Got Talent; benefit events; or weekly podcasts for Windy City Media Group. She also tirelessly works to attract corporate sponsors and advertisers to support and market to the GLBT community.
Her show for the Oprah Winfrey Network is called One on One With Amy Matheny, and features intimate, in-depth interviews on relevant topics of the day in news and entertainment with celebrities, artists, newsmakers and more. Plus the show promises to bring the viewer one-on-one with the conversation through new media technology such as text, email, Skype and Twitter.

About Amy Matheny
Originally from eastern Tennessee, Amy Matheny began her radio career in 1998 as the lesbian host of LesBiGay Radio, Chicago's GLAAD media award-winning daily GLBT program on WSBC-AM Chicago. In 2001 when Windy City Media acquired LesBiGay Radio, she became the lesbian voice of Windy City Radio on WCKG 105.9FM and a Senior Account Manager for WCMG creating multi-media campaigns in the GLBT community for corporations such as Anheuser Busch, Miller Lite, Future Brands, American Airlines, IBM, LaSalle Bank, Subaru, Broadway In Chicago and many major arts organizations. Currently, she emcees numerous events around Chicago including Windy City Gay Idol and hosts a weekly podcast on WindyCityQueercast.com
