In a groundbreaking development, razor company Headblade has signed John Amaechi, a former NBA player who recently came out, to a contract. The deal—which is for an undisclosed amount of money—marks the first time a mainstream corporation has signed such a deal with an out male athlete, according to a press release.

In the statement, company CEO Todd Greene said that 'John Amaechi is the newest face of the brand because he embodies many of the qualities representative of a HeadBlader. He is a man comfortable in his own skin and he's not afraid to go against the grain. ... John not only represents a few of our target demographics; he's also a worldwide diplomat for the brand and a role model to many people.'
