Alliance of Illinois Judges hosting 'Coming Out Stories'

In celebration of National Coming Out Day ( which took place Oct. 11 ), the Alliance of Illinois Judges ( AIJ ) unveiled the short film Coming Out Stories.
Coming Out Stories features members of the judiciary sharing coming out stories and advice for allies. All proceeds benefit the AIJ law student scholarship fund.
Coming Out Stories Features: Hon. Levander Smith Jr., Judge-Elect Jill Rose Quinn, The Hon. Sarah Smolenski ( District Court Judge, 63rd District of Michigan ), Hon. Rosie Speedlin Gonzalez ( Bexar County, Texas ) and third-year law student Lily Amberg ( JMLS, UIC '21 ). The Hon. Mary Cay Marubio ( AIJ president ), the Hon. Linda Pauel ( AIJ vice president ) and the Hon. Cecilia Horan ( AIJ board director ) are hosts.
Upon purchase of a ticket, people will receive a unique link to view the 42-minute film at their convenience within a 48-hour window. The link will be active through Saturday, Oct. 17.
AIJ was formed by the LGBTQ judges of Illinois to promote diversity and understanding within the judiciary and the legal community. |
