35th Ward Alderman Carlos Ramirez-Rosa Statement on President Trump's continued attacks against undocumented Chicagoans:
"This is another one of President Trump's 'alternative facts,' a continuation of Trump's attacks on immigrants, Muslims, women, Chicago's youth, and our working families. It is wrong that the President of the United States would seek to scare and divide the American people. We know our neighbors in Chicago - we are a city of immigrants and we are proud of that fact. Trump continues to attack anyone that does not look like him, it's clear at this point that Trump views anyone that does not look like him as a threat."
"Trump is out of touch with Chicagoans, we Chicagoans know the local solutions we must pursue to make our communities safe. We will continue to work to strengthen our sanctuary city policy and address the root causes of crime by investing in our neighborhoods and our youth."
Alderman Carlos Ramirez-Rosa is a lifelong Chicagoan dedicated to public service. As a community organizer, former congressional caseworker, and now Thirty-Fifth Ward Alderman, Carlos has always put our families and our neighborhoods first.
