Acting legend Tony Curtis dies at 85

Tony Curtis, who had an acting career that spanned six decades, died of cardiac arrest in Las Vegas, Nev., Sept. 29, according to People.com; he was 85. His daughter, actress Jamie Lee Curtis, confirmed the death to Entertainment Tonight.
Curtiswho was born in 1925 with the name Bernard Schwartzwas in more than 125 movies, including 1958's The Defiant Ones, with Sidney Poitier ( for which Curtis was nominated for an Oscar ) ; and 1959's Some Like It Hot, in which he and co-star Jack Lemmon play musicians on the run who dress in drag. The latter film also featured the legendary Marilyn Monroe.
His personal life garnered as much press as his movies. Tony Curtis romanced many actresses, including Monroe and Natalie Wood; married six women; and fathered six children. |
