On Sunday, Feb. 13, ALMA (Association of Latino/as Motivating Action), in collaboration with the Chicago History Museum program OUT at CHM, will show the documentary Seguimos Aqui (We Are Still Here): Pride, Pandemic and Perseverance—a movie from SoapBox Productions and Organizing—at Fantasy Nightclub, 3641 N. Halsted St., at 9 p.m.

This historical documentary features four LGBTQ+-identifying Latinx Chicagoans shown to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, interpersonal struggles and community triumphs throughout a turbulent yet powerful 2020.

Among those profiled is Fantasy performer Nissa Conde, who will perform after the film showing and discussion.

Reyna Ortiz, who is featured in the film, saw her participation in the documentary as an opportunity not only to inform, but to also bring attention—and hopefully resources—to the work her organization does, according to WTTW.

"I'm really about education and enlightening people or communities about trans issues, gender-nonconforming issues and also the magnificence of Taskforce Prevention, the organization that I work for," she said.
