3160 Piano Bar & Cabaret, 3160 N. Clark St., will close its doors July 29.
The bar's owner, Jim Flint, told Windy City Times that he sold the business to two of his bartenders, and was unsure of their plans for the new establishment.
"It was time," said Flint, who also owns the Baton Show Lounge, 436 N. Clark St. "I'm getting older and just did not have as much time to run it anymore."
Flint said that 3160's manager, Dan Neniskis, would also be leaving.
3160 was opened under its current name in 2006, and was previously known as Annex 3 before Flint decided on a new concept. It regularly features live entertainment and raucous audience participation.
"I just wish the new guys the best of luck with the place," Flint added. "I hope they enjoy running it as much as I have the past 26 years."
The space is slated to open as a gay spot known as Shakers on Clark; see www.shakersonclark.com .
