On Friday, March 16, 14th District state Rep. Kelly Cassidy, will face-off with candidate Paul Basta for a political debate to speak on their plans for the district before Tuesday's elections. Gay Chicago TV's anchor and producer of the "Gay Report" TJ Chernick, Windy City Gay Idol past winner, will moderate the 30 minute debate, which will air at 9 p.m. on www.gaychicagotv.com .
The debate will be held at Mary's Attic located above Hamburger Mary's at 5400 N. Clark Street, Chicago, IL 60640, Ph (773) 784-6969. The debate will be open to the general public but space will be limited.
The debate will promptly begin at 5 p.m. and the format for the event is as followed:
The moderator will deliver a 60-second opening statement and introduction of the candidates.
Each candidate will deliver a 30-second introduction.
The moderator will present 10 questions and the answers will be limited to 30 seconds with 15 second rebuttals, other questions or time extensions will be subject to the moderator's criteria.
No audience interruptions or other media questions will be allow during the debate.
Each candidate will have a 60 second closing remark followed by a 30-second closing statement by the moderator.
