Wakandacon—a celebration of Black business, culture, tech, creativity and more—will take place Aug. 3-5 at the Hilton Chicago, 720 S. Michigan Ave.

Named after the country made popular in the Black Panther comics and high-grossing movie, Wakandacon has advertised itself as inclusive, with all being "welcome to come celebrate together."

Just a few of the events include the forums such as "Queerkanda," "Black Panther & Biomimicry: How to Innovate like Wakandans through Nature Inspired Design," "Black Filmmaking Today," "Sisterhood through the Wakandan Lens: Nakia & Okoye & Nettie & Celie," and "Games As Social Justice;" a Jabari stunt workshop with Mark Willis; and get-togethers such as the Cosplay Parade, "Nerd Networking" and the "Autodesk Mixer."
