Youth Outlook, in collaboration with Naperville's 360 Youth Services, is expanding Transcend, their drop-in center program dedicated to trans youth and their allies.
Starting May 29, they launched Transcend 2, which will focus on youth and young adults age 18 to 25. This group will be held monthly at the DuPage Unitarian Universalist Church. This new group will be held in addition to the original group, Transcend, which will continue to focus on youth age 13 to 19.
They stated: "The expansion of services comes after a notable increase in recent months in the number of youth between the ages of 13 and 15 joining Transcend — our biweekly group focusing on questions of gender-identity. Simultaneously, there has been a general increase in the attendance of trans youth and young adults of all ages receiving services from Youth Outlook. Due to the wide range of ages represented by trans youth seeking services, there are varying interests and attention spans. Transcend and Transcend 2 will each work to provide the best, age-appropriate services for the youth and young adults in attendance."
