  TODAYS GAY & LESBIAN EVENTS

Friday June 2nd

Raveling, includingThe Personals
11:00pm - 5:00pm

The Personals is set between 1966 and 1981 and is made from James Hosking's collection of LGBTQ+ ephemera and the holdings of Gerber/Hart Library and Archives. The anonymous authors of those personals become imagined protagonists in the works. Both individually and collectively, the collages form psychic maps of desire, reinventing an underground visual history. Through June 8 James at work in the reading room at Gerber/Hart last year. Each piece is inspired by contemporaneous personal ads, some of which are reproduced in the compositions. The anonymous authors of those personals become imagined protagonists in the works. Both individually and collectively, the collages form psychic maps of desire, reinventing an underground visual history. Raveling will be open until June 8th at the Chicago Artists Coalition at 2130 W Fulton. Check out James's website to learn more!
