WINDY CITY TIMES SUPPLEMENTARY ELECTION SPECIAL
2010-01-27

This week, Windy City Times is running a supplementary election special. ( Also, keep in mind that early voting runs through Jan. 28. )

Windy City Times does not endorse those in political races. Rather, we send out questionnaires to candidates and rate their responses based on the total number of questions for that race. We also list the endorsements of various gay and progressive groups, and area bar associations. Chart columns this week also include AIDS Foundation of Chicago questionnaire scores as well as endorsements from the Stonewall Democrats of Illinois and the Chicago chapter of the National Organization for Women.

As always, we have a number of interviews. In this issue, we will run a brand-new interview with lesbian judicial candidate Mary Trew as well as portions of talks with Dan Hynes, Pat Quinn and Rich Whitney, three of the Democratic candidates for governor—which happens to be one of the tightest races in Illinois.

Speaking of Trew, she is one of four additional out candidates featured in the WCT feature Guide to the Gays. The others are state rep candidates Bob Mueller and Kent DeLay ( who is actually down in Springfield ) as well as Kane County judicial candidate John Dalton.

In addition, read about a recent gathering of lesbian and gay candidates at Sidetrack ( right ) as well as photos from the candidate-studded Equality Illinois gala held Jan. 23.

Please note addition: Tracey Stokes ( Cook County Court, Riley vacancy ) scored 5/8 on the Windy City Times questionnaire.
