Wow, with each installment of this guide ( this being the fifth ), we've seen a drastic shift in the marriage equality movement. In the first installment, same-sex marriage had been passed in Illinois, but was not yet the law of the state. By issue number two, that had changed and Illinoisans we're getting married-married all over the state ( even in the downstate counties ). The third issue saw this change in Illinois as another ripple in the growing wave of change sweeping the nation. How fitting, then, that in this fifth issue, marriage has just become—simply—marriage. No more "same-sex marriage." No more state-to-state uncertainty. No more backseat. Marriage equality is the law of the land!

But even though our covenants are now given equal legal standing, the LGBT clientele still boasts a vibrant, unique attitude and it's important that those businesses you employ in planning your special day get that. Here's hoping this guide helps.
